June 2k19: Sagehen!

Home long enough to wash allll the laundry and climb back into the truck for our family camping trip to Sagehen!

I love when random things become hilarious on a road trip.... like the masses of cows that slowed us down for a bit. So much laughing.

Arrived safe and with just enough light to get everything set up and organized and happy and have a beautiful fire that night!

Woke up in the morning to see this notice everywhere.... good times.

Camping really brings out my natural, um, beauty.

We are not hardcore campers with tons of hacks and tips... but here's a great camping tip: make the pancake batter at home and take it up in gallon ziplocks. So much easier.

For some reason we own a game called Farkle: Party! and it is strictly reserved for camping trips only. Like we seriously have never played it within the walls of our home.

Time to hit the water, aka Clyde and Will's happy time.

Jack and Carma were a little more tentative.

Phase 10 and naps. My happy time.

Some exploring.

We found friends!!!! Aka the 20th ward girls' camp set up a few campsites down and we were super excited to see Hengxin and Emery :).

I'm not saying Clyde was a moody teenager off and on during this trip... but the photographic evidence seems to be there ;).

S'more time. Everyone's happy time.

The last time we went to Sagehen, Will and Chuck sneaked out late one night to look for frogs and it is a core memory for Willy boy, so they made the same trek again this time and were successful again!

The first was down at the water and the second was back at camp - Will was so happy!

I started out in that sleeping bag alone, for the record.

Switched over to the boys' tent to see if I could get some better space and sleep. It did not work.

Morning round the campfire.

Carma finally waking up like two hours later haha.

The caterpillars were EVERYWHERE. None of us were allergic or showed any kind of reaction so they weren't dangerous just freaking annoying. And, you know, disgusting to look at haha.

"Clear the board! Clear the board!"

Cutest pictures of my cutest five favorite people.

Aaaand back to the water we went.

He gets soooo blonde in the sunshine!

Jack loves being the third wheel ;).

Another happy Clyde sighting!!

Prob our favorite camp meal?

The moodiness has transferred to me ;).

Jk, I'm happy. Love me a snuggly Clyde.

And on that note, it was time to pack up and head home - a few hours before our reservation was up, but a few hours past my limit of co-habitating with five hundred thousand caterpillars :).

Carma refusing to be in the sibling picture....
deciding to just take a brother picture....

and then Carma deciding she wanted to be in the picture after all ;).

Randomly intense instagram caption: It’s highly possible that she delights in being a constant source of hilarity, frustration, pride, joy, confusion, and entertainment to these three big brothers. Luckily for them, understanding women is overrated. What matters is valuing them, respecting them, crediting them, celebrating them, honoring them, believing them, inspiring them, challenging them, protecting them... and expecting all of those things back from them towards you. 🧑🧑 Thank you. This has been my #JanaJumbledJargon. It’s like a Ted Talk but makes less sense ✌πŸΌπŸ‘©πŸ»‍πŸ’»πŸ˜

Beautiful view on the drive home! I love being outdoorsy for very limited amounts of time and I'm very very grateful for how much work and effort Chuck puts into making these camping adventures happen for our family. Pretty fun to look back on!
