A bit into August we piled into the car for what I like to call a 'triangle trip' - Nampa to Elko to Utah and back to Nampa.
Off to Elko! And who doesn't need a side profile of them driving? ;)
Carma killed me with her little blanket Mother Theresa look.
We rolled into town just in time for the Newmont Employee Family Picnic - a legendary gathering that Clyde and I attended when he was a baby, but none of us had been back for since. It was AMAZING!
Bounce house obstacle course was of course a big hit.
Hamster ball inflatables - they fit two at a time and you have to try to coordinate running together. Probably produced the most laughter by spectators and sweat by participants haha.
This inflatable game was hilarious - they tried to knock each other over with the 'wrecking ball' in the middle - I love these pictures of Lily, Will, and Clyde:
It was SO fun to be with Pops and see the appreciation his company has for its employees and their families. Highlight of the afternoon: Will, looking around in awe at the unlimited slushees, cotton candy, and bounce houses: “Grandpa, WHAT company do you work for??”
Chuck agreed to go inside the hamster ball with Will and I almost died laughing and Chuck almost died, um, rolling:
Chuck is the best.
Beautiful picture of my beautiful mother-in-law!
We went back to Grandma and Grandpa's house for the night and Will was thrilled to make the acquaintance of Grandma's hermit crabs:
The evening was spent out front looking through Grandpa's amazing telescope.
Sunday morning cousin fun:
Sweetest picture!
And then we let the kids run around at Johnny Appleseed park for an hour before it was time to hit the road:
Will and Lily, only two months apart in age, Lily's older...
James and Carma, only five months apart in age, Carma's older...
and Jack and Anna, only five months apart in age, Anna's older!
Classic Jackers. Ohhhh I love him.
Extra long goodbye hug for Lily, my choice not hers haha.
And one more hug for Grandma! We don't make it to Elko as often as we used to (more often we see Grandma and Grandpa in Utah or they come up to Nampa) so it was nice to be there and enjoy such an awesome visit.
