august 2k19: end of the triangle trip

The last bit of our Utah corner of the triangle trip was spent in Kaysville with Chuck's side of the family!

We met up with Dan the Man for breakfast while he was en route to work... he basically counts as being on Chuck's side of the family ;).

Okkkay we're cute.

Carma and Miss Emily had the best time together, super fun:

Nintendo switch bonding with the boys:

More Carma and Emmie!

Not sure where George and Clyde were biking off to, seems nefarious.

Ohhh Courtney. I'm such a gushy aunt but I can't help it when I have such amazing nieces and nephews. Courtney is an absolute light.

We loved spending time with Grandma Thomas while we were there - and since Grandma looked beautiful as always and the front yard light was perfect, we took some pictures!

Love these - I posted on instagram after the fact about Grandma Thomas with this caption: We were lucky to cross paths with Grandma Thomas in Utah; she was in town from Pennsylvania and we spent a few hours together at Melissa’s house. Grandma had clothes and books for the kids, Carma promptly showed off by reading to Grandma, and we had a quick, impromptu photo shoot outside before we took off. If I counted right ๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿงฎ๐Ÿ”ข๐Ÿค” Grandma has 22 great-grandchildren with three more on the way- and she is mindful of all of them, remembering their interests and delighting in their antics and stories and time with them๐Ÿ’—. We are grateful for every chance we have to see Grandma - thanks Aunt Sue and Melissa for helping us coordinate this visit!

We were so happy to make it to watch George and Mallory in Newsies at a local theater that night! The timing was super sketchy since I had new employee orientation the next morning but we made it happen and I'm so, so glad. I will never regret the time/effort/money of being at special things for nieces and nephews; it means more (I'm sure!) to me than it does to them. I love it.

Insta caption: Starting a road trip drive home at 1030pm is generally a dubious choice BUT if it’s the only way to see your niece and nephew in opening night for Newsies then you do it happily and it was completely worth getting home circa 315am! All four kids were SO enthralled and we loved watching Mallory (as a freaking leading role, Specs) and George (tech in the ensemble BUT he honestly is vital in like three big scenes) sing, dance, act and basically own the stage. They’re amazing. So talented! If you’re in Davis county in Utah... or you’re within a decent driving distance... go see the show! It’s at OPPA! Theater in Layton, there are shows tonight, tomorrow, Saturday and then Monday and Tuesday. It’s legit worth alllll the money! Seize the day! ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽญ๐ŸŽฌ๐ŸŽŸ๐Ÿ—ž๐Ÿ“ฐ
