Our Sporty July

When choosing a month of the year to be extra sporty as a family, the Izatts personally recommend selecting the hottest month! Luckily, water was involved in most of our sporty adventures... like swim lessons. Chuck gave Will free reign with the camera and now we have 200+ pictures of the other three mid-stroke during that day's lesson. You're welcome that I pared it down a bit:

Chuck did manage to get this quick one of the photographer himself. Cutest Willy boy we know!

Chuck's parents came to town so a bowling outing was organized:

Grandma and Grandpa, their two sons Chuck and Lee, and all six of their 'Izatt' grandkids - a pretty perfect afternoon!

More swim lessons. Ahhhh to have the swimsuit confidence of a four year old still sporting a swim diaper ;). That swim shirt though! So dang cute. Hand-me-downs from Angie/Scarlett will never stop being our favorites:

Yay for diving board and slide days!

The day finally came to let our cute baby birds spread their wings a bit more - we sent Clyde and Will on their bikes to the Nampa library on their own. It's only a couple miles away, but definitely some busier streets. They did great, had fun computer time, returned stuff, checked stuff out, and made it home safe. It was an adventure that was oft-repeated for the rest of the summer:

More random bicycling pictures...

We heeded the siren of the bowling alley once again, this time with Grandma Pam along!

Well, it appears that I worked out at least once in July. Looks terrible haha.

And last but not least, the boys semi-willingly attempted a triathlon! Which I personally pronounce and spell triathAlon but apparently that's not correct. Whatev.

Clyde and Will were up pretty quick, and in the same heat which was fairly convenient. Swimming was up first and both boys did awesome. Clyde was in and out pretty quick (I think they had to swim 'there and back' twice?) and then moved on to the biking. I stuck around and cheered for Willy boy, who is generally not influenced by outside pressure to move faster than he is personally inclined to haha. The bike portion took them across the park and then we met up again for the run.

Clyde did awesome and then collapsed pretty hardcore haha.

Will enjoyed a nice jaunty walk around a few laps before jogging in for the finish. I loved that he did it on his own terms!

Cute little triathlon brothers!!

Jack had to wait quite a while, but was thrilled to hop in when his heat was called!

He loved the bike portion, of course, and it was fun to be there and cheer when he switched to his run - which Clyde actually did with him:

And here's Jackers finishing up and claiming his t-shirt.

We stuck around for snacks and raffle winners - and ended up sitting next to family! We love seeing Chuck's cousin Victoria and her family around town, so I snapped a quick picture of Will and his second cousin :).

Instagram caption: I for sure don’t have any strong athletic ability to have passed along to my kids BUT they have inherited my healthy appreciation for participatory t-shirts and granola bars at the finish line, so yesterday’s triathlon was a resounding success! Super proud of these three 😎🤩🤗 [clyde and will followed it up by riding their bikes straight to the library and then eventually home soooo you can guess which portion of swim/bike/run was our family’s favorite 🏊🏼‍♂️🚴🏼‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️🧐🤔]

Also, quick selfie because daaaaang, sports mom looks good on me ;).
