June 2020: part two

Gearing up for the trip up north for the Hiawatha:
Cuuuute little travelers:

Instagram caption: Izatt kids bout to be educated 😎. See y’all post-adventuring! ✌πŸΌπŸŒ²πŸš²πŸ›£πŸ”¦πŸ•πŸ˜˜

We borrowed the trailer thing from Chuck's co-worker, suuuuper handy!

Kids' first time to Washington? I think?

All set up at our campsite and playing Farkle Party! aka a game we only play when camping.

OH this is fun. Finding lice in Carma's hair when you're camping and your cell phone service suuuucks so you can just barely google anything and your texts aren't sending super well.

Oh cool I have some too. WHAT THE WHAT. 2020 sucks. You know what's worse than sending people a "Shoot, I have covid, sorry that we hung out two days ago?" text? Sending a "Shoot, we have LICE, sorry we hung out recently" text. Got one back from the neighbor saying the other girls down the street have it too - Imma say it started with them ;).

hmmm, wonder how it spread from Carma to me? No idea...

Breakfast!

Driving to Hiawatha - Jack still plugging through the Harry Potter audiobooks.

Back 'home' that evening after Hiawatha.

Aaaand time to go the next morning. Quick trip - time to go home and actually deal with the lice (ALL THE CRYING EMOJIS)

In case you wanted to see a little lice bug. SO GROSS.

Oh hey, Jack brought home a tick too. What the WHAT?

Insta caption: A year ago Chuck and I celebrated our 15th anniversary with a ‘just the two of us’ getaway, including an amazing makeover and incredible photo shoot πŸ‘°πŸ»πŸ€΅πŸ»πŸ“ΈπŸ’•. This year we celebrated our 16th anniversary with a family camping trip, marking the actual day with 7ish hours with all six of us in the cab of our truck and getting home in time to do FREAKING LICE treatments on the whole gangπŸ•πŸ‘¨‍πŸ‘¦‍πŸ‘¦πŸ‘©‍πŸ‘§‍πŸ‘¦πŸ›£πŸ¦‚πŸ¦—πŸ‘€. 2020, amiright? πŸ€ͺπŸ₯΄πŸ˜πŸ˜‚ Chuck is a rock star and being his best friend is a job I will always be grateful to have. Also, lice sucks πŸ€’πŸ˜…✌🏼

A baby lice!

For the record, if this ever hits us again we will skip allll the home treatments and go straight to the professionals. There's a lice clinic in Meridian that we finally ended up at and it was hands down the best $200 or so I've ever spent. I would have paid three times that. (don't tell them or they'll raise their prices).

Lego fun:

Willy boy getting those swimming laps in!

Truth.

The time arrived for Jack to cease having shark teeth... aka he went in and had SIX teeth pulled... whilst listening to Harry Potter and wearing a shark shirt. It was rough. Super rough. I made Chuck take him.

Yepppp.

Breakfast... Chuck is the freaking best.

Instagram caption: Is there a normal amount of love one should have for their front yard tree? Because I think I err on the side of maybe possibly too much love for our front yard tree. Like, for a while I had it as my lock screen picture on my phone πŸ€ͺ. It’s just so pretty! And green! And full! And gives amazing shade! This concludes today’s ode to our tree 😍🌳

Willy boy mowing the lawn... and being forced into a selfie with me? Not sure of the context here.

Rolling up sod to gift to Chuck's amazing coworker Aime because we don't want it anymore!

Instagram caption:
Every so often I think maybe I should buckle down and eat healthier and work out more to lose a few extra pounds... but then I remember that Clyde is taller than me and stronger than me and knows way more about wrestling than me, which leaves weight as the only advantage I have over him. Pass the cookies, stat.

Instagram caption:
Life is better with... high school best friend reunions 🧑🧑. Highlights: Andrew’s amazing house (the kitchen! the basement! that door! 🀩), alllll the laughing, avoiding politics (πŸ™‹πŸ»‍♀️➡️ odd one out there πŸ˜‚), Emily not ever aging, me being as nosy as ever 🀷🏻‍♀️, and all of us promising not to go so long without getting together again πŸ™ŒπŸΌ. Thanks for the lovely evening 😘😘

Instagram caption: Chuck and I like to do this thing where he has an idea and I fight against it and counter it and whine and am grumpy and then we do it and it turns out awesome and I take credit for the whole thing. Exhibit K: we took out some grass and extended our driveway to the left! Room to park two vehicles, excellent price on gravel at a local nursery, easier time getting bikes and scooters out of the garage, and no parking on the street anymore πŸ€—. It was a lot of hard work (I think... you’d have to ask Chuck and Clyde, they handled the manual labor while I supervised) but it’s so fun to see my vision fulfilled 😍. So glad I thought of this!

But seriously, Chuck is the best and the smartest.

boy in a tree:

... turns out it's Clyde.

I agreed to go to Eagle bike park but mostly because it usually involves a Krispy Kreme detour:

Caption via instagram: Got talked into joining a pretty legit mountain biking gang this morning. Highlights included not dyingπŸ™ŒπŸΌ, only having to stop and walk a few times πŸ˜…, not breaking Clyde’s bike that I borrowed🚲, and Chuck being adorably sweet and encouraging of me... even when it took me a solid minute and a half to do the BMX track 😬. I was very stressed I might accidentally go fast enough to “get” “air” πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ so I compensated by breaking heavily 🚧. This is obviously close to becoming an outdoor adventure sports account, excited!!

Afternoon at the park with Grandpa:

Valid points:

Chuck. soooo Chuck.

Honestly, it looks like we had church? But I don't think we did? But those are definitely the Father's Day treats.... so I guess so?

Either way, Carma and I look darling in our Patriotic church outfits!

Warning, super creepy pictures ahead haha. Courtesy of cousin time with Bri and Eli:

Dropping my baby off at high school football workouts, I guess he's all grown up?

Love this.

Swim lessons!

That diving form tho!

Adventure at Barber Park with Grandpa:

I love my Jackers.

Aaaand a beautiful drive home!
