Good news: at 12 he isn't yet too old to climb into our bed and bug us ;). Imma guess this was Minecraft-related...
Cody sent the sweetest message for Clyde's birthday.
And then we hosted the sweeeeetest gathering for Clyde's birthday: a huge Nerf battle! Clyde invited family and friends from both church and school and it was so fun to watch everyone bond together as allies... or against each other as enemies haha.
Chuck and Clyde set up an awesome layout, using the front/back/side yards and plenty of props to use as shields and bunkers.
Andy vs. Seth? Don't worry, mama will run in and scoop Andy off to safety haha!
Will had no desire to participate in the battle, so we stuck him in as an embedded reporter - he ran around taking pictures with the iPad, clad in 'hunter safety' orange to avoid being targeted. Cousin Eli joined him halfway through and they had a great time!
I likewise was in the mix for documentation purposes only. So many fun action pictures of everyone!
The sidewalk was dual-purpose: the audience seating area and the 'graveyard' where players who had gotten out waited for a new round to start. We loved that Janell came to watch; everything is more fun when she's around!

Never underestimate Katie - turns out she's a-mazing at Nerf. She was consistently on the winning team and even took down Brother Cunningham in a nail-biting one-on-one finish.
This group has proven to be awesome friends for Clyde in middle school and we're so glad!

It's slightly alarming how attached Rowan was to that Thor mask hahaha.
Ha, it would appear I made Rowan take at least one picture without Thor.
Clyde is pretty psyched to join the Young Men at church now, and we're grateful for such an awesome group of boys for him to hang out with!
