sept 2k18: Utah trip to cousin Bekah's wedding!

Chuck's cousin Rebekah got married in Utah in September and it was well worth the drive to see this beauty in person:

I seriously can't get over how amazing Bekah looked, and what a sweet couple she and Nile are, and how much I loved her dress. Sigh. I love weddings.

The drive down was absolutely powered by Dr. Pepper. We left Thursday... after Clyde's cross country meet... after Chuck got home from work... sooo around 7pm... meaning we rolled into Provo circa 1am. Yiiiikes.

But we made it for the Friday morning ceremony, so that's the important thing! Chuck and I have been to the Provo City Center temple before, but not for a sealing so that was extra cool.

Grandma Thomas with most of her great-grandchildren - {missing Mallory, George, and Clyde... and now the four (!) new great grandbabies that have been born in the fourteen months since, with one more on the way.}

The '08 bunch! Bri, Lily, Will.

All of the official, beautiful, amazing pictures courtesy of photographer extraordinaire Melissa Blue. This was the big group shot at the temple - Chuck and Jack and I are in back, Clyde is off to the left, and Carma June is right up front with Grandma, Lily, and Anna.

So fun to be able to celebrate with Uncle Bill and Aunt Gina and their family.

Okay, I'm impressed with Rachel on basically any given day but THIS particular day I was ridiculously in awe of her for being this put together and gracious and helping out with everything a mere FIFTEEN days after having a baby. Rachel and Bekah are basically the cutest sisters ever and I just love them.

We made a pit stop at our hotel for Carma to, um, freshen up (aka apply all the makeup I wouldn't let her paint on that morning haha) and then hit up the local attractions... starting with Costco lunch. I know the food court there does pretty well for itself without mass amounts of mass marketing, BUT if they ever decided to do any kind of serious ad campaign, I feel like my kids would be complete naturals for the job. I mean, if you can look at Jack heartily enjoying that slice of pizza and not slightly crave one yourself... then that's actually very understandable.

Carma gives the Provo D.I. two thumbs up.

Before we knew it, it was time to get gussied back up for the reception! Such a perfect autumn/outdoorsy theme, complete with roasting marshmallows and extra blankets on hand to snuggle up with.

The dance floor was a main attraction, of course. Jack and I made it out for 'mother/son' dancing and Chuck and Carma joined quite a crew when it was time for fathers and daughters. Let's be honest, Carma June stayed out there pretty much regardless of who was specifically invited to participate haha. She loves her some dancin'!

Avery continued to be absolutely perfect as she was oh-so-gently passed around. Lily was pretty thrilled to finally have her turn:

Dance floor + Bekah looking like a princess = basically heaven for Carma.

We attempted a family picture, because heyyy we were all there and pretty clean and fairly matching! It was a bit rough haha:

... which is why Chuck and I proceeded to encourage the children to run off and we took pictures of just us. We're the cutest anyways.

Straight up cheating since this is the Mt. Timpanogos temple and we've never been there together... but this can just be a place-holder picture until we do make it there one of these times ;).

Ahhh, road trip and hotel life. Love it.

Okay, Saturday morning we made a quick stop at Quinn's house on our way north and somehow he managed to sit in my car, take a picture on my phone, AND change my screensaver - and I didn't notice it for like six hours? Awkward.

We met up with a lot of the extended family at a park in SLC for picnic lunches and a bit more time together. I love how often Clyde and George end up wearing their collegiate rivalry haha:
It was a fun way to let all the kids run around and get out energy and talk to those we hadn't gotten much time with the night before. We also watched as a VERY large group of Pokemon Go players gathered by the trees near the pavilion where we sat. They seriously showed up in groups of twos and threes over the process of like a half hour until they were at least a hundred strong and we started feeling like extras on some sort of movie set.

Grandma and the wee ones! Love the pictures of her snuggling with Avery.

And a few more pictures with Grandma, once Carma was in the mood haha.

Our last Utah stop was around Bountiful, where Chuck and the kids checked out a park we always drive by... while I checked out the D.I. a couple of blocks away haha.

I think this was a picture meant to show the red mark by Jack's eye after a play place incident with a brother, BUT hear me out McDonalds marketing team: Kind of wistful, am I right? Who knew that Jack was a such a natural in selling folks on pizza and cheeseburgers??

And mad props to Dr. Pepper (here via Maverik) for getting us home safely Saturday night as well, this time bright and early at like 11pm haha.

And mostly thank you and congratulations to Nile and Rebekah for including us in a beautiful wedding and reception and we're so excited for your life together. Love you guys!!
