Instead of coming straight home after Lagoon, we decided to hang out in Utah for a couple extra days and visit the Smiths. Grandma Pam stopped by as well, since she was on the last leg of her two week trip through eastern Idaho and Utah, and Sam and Terri came up Monday for some fun too.
First things first: a long nap for both boys on the Love Sac!
Next up: wrestling in 'the pit'.

Clyde worked hard (for as long as his two-year-old attention span would allow) coloring the big 'Cars' posters that Grandma Pam brought.
Will prefered to find roly polies and squish them. Now, I don't like bugs in general, but roly polies seem so friendly and cute - and both of my sons delight in destroying them! Will prefers a hands-on method, while Clyde usually smashes them with chalk. Sigh.
Courtney, Heidi, and Sam multi-tasked by keeping an eye on the homemade ice cream and discussing the MCAT and medical school - Courtney's husband Ben, like Sam, is pre-med at BYU.
Terri, Will and Clyde found time to relax on the hammock (although I doubt Terri's really relaxing that much, taking care of two little boys is very tiring!)
Later they went on a rock climbing expedition.
Plenty of time was spent talking and eating, of course - hard to say what was better, the company or the food!
But the big hit of the visit was definitely . . .

the pool! It's too chilly to swim during our regular April/October visits, so we were so excited to take our maiden voyage into the beautiful pool.
Between swimming lessons and swimming for fun, we've decided Clyde is quite a little fish; he loves to scoop his arms and kick his legs around the pool. He's even getting better about going all the way under.
Will and I enjoyed a leisurely float around the pool for a bit.
Sam and Chuck created a little game called "Toss Clyde Back and Forth as High as Possible". It was obviously a huge hit:
Yeah, check out my face in this one; I was a little nervous. Before each launch, Chuck would ask Clyde, "More jumping or all done?" to which Clyde would enthusiastically reply "More jumping! 1-2-3, Go!"
Meanwhile, poor Will was stuck with Heidi and me playing a game called "Toss Will Back and Forth Without Letting Go of Him at All". Whatever, he liked it.
I eventually relented and handed Will over to Chuck and Sam for a bit as well:
(Yes, Chuck and I are a little pink around the shoulders. We're usually pretty hardcore about the sunscreen but had neglected to reapply earlier in the day after we got out to eat lunch. Luckily it was pretty mild and we learned our lesson!)
We finished up in the pool that night with a little bit of competition: swimming races between Chuck, Heidi, and Sam. It was pretty entertaining :)
And finally, let me take this opportunity to say Happy Birthday to Heidi, who turns 17 today. Heidi and I always have so much fun giggling ("This is our 'we're considering becoming professional models, so pass this along to any agents you know' shot" * "Oh, he must have been driving" * "See, this one is Pampers and this one is Huggies") and I absolutely adore her. Happy birthday Heid!

I love the pictures of Chuck and Sam throwing the boys back and forth. I can just hear them squealing in delight. :)
I still think that the hurl clyde back and forth game was safer than the put clyde on the wall and try to catch him when he jumps back in whether you're watching or not game. Oh and heads up, capped sleeves or not, your fisher-price shirt will be mine...
Jana your posts always make me laugh. Which is a difficult thing to do, considering how humorous I am myself. Maybe it's the similarity in our names that makes us such cohesive bloggers. At any rate, I am in awe of:
1. Children who will fall asleep any place you stash them. IF mine aren't in their crib, forget about it...
2. Children who request any sort of pool hijinks. (Is this a girl thing? This timidity??)
xoxoxo
I hope our children never jointly discover a rollie-pollie. Jazlyn is like the patron saint of rollie-pollies. Every time she finds one on the sidewalk she carefully picks it up and moves it to the grass, even if she's screaming along on her bike she stops to do it. I'm afraid if she witnesses the needless brutality from your boys she may give up on the male species altogether. And quite frankly, who can blame her. ;)
