august 2k18: da boys start school!

The happiest day of the year finally rolled around, and these three all headed to school, wooo!!!

Seriously though.

We rode bikes up to Park Ridge the week before to drop off supplies, meet teachers, and enjoy the Open House:

We were beyond thrilled when the class rosters were posted and we saw that Jack was in Miss Overcast's class.... such that I had to facebook my excitement ;). Sarah was perfect for Willy Boy four years ago and it's already clear that she's even more perfect for Jackers.

Meanwhile, Will gets to finish his elementary school career with the same INCREDIBLE teacher with whom he began - Mrs. Keene! Her amazing flexible seating classroom + some good buddies in there with him are the icing on the cake.

Formal first day portraits:

Clyde, 7th grade

Will, 5th grade

Jack, 1st grade

Ahhh, my two elementary school goofs.

We dropped Clyde off with his bike so he could ride home, and the other two rode both ways.

Whyyyy yes, I am a nostalgic mess looking at their growth from August 2017-August 2018.

We ended up driving Clyde most of the time; sketchy visibility and no sidewalks along Southside meant the morning commute was a no-go...
and cross-country practice meant he was pretty tired in the afternoons and biking the three miles home sounded less than appealing.

The middle school open house was a week or so into the school year:

Yep, another side by side - 6th grade and then 7th. AHHHHHHH!

Carma tagged along and thoroughly enjoyed her glimpse of middle school life:

It was Sam's bday so I sported the only Ute shirt I have in his honor.

And finally, since it will be a long long while... if ever.... that Clyde's on facebook, enjoy his 'heritage profile' courtesy of his social studies class:
I obviously love the whole thing, but his little smirk in the profile picture miiiight be my favorite part.

HAPPY NEW SCHOOL YEAR! YAYYYYY!
