Jack is FIVE! (and 10/12s😳😳😳)

Is he mesmerized by the candles or the new Star Wars legos? Imma go with both...

Jack had preschool on his birthday, which was perfect; he really missed it there over the Christmas break. Grandma Pam surprised him and picked him up and gave him a new lego set, which he and Grandma promptly put together. Jack LOVES building lego sets. He loves 'reading' the instruction booklets. He loves searching for the right pieces.

After school we all loaded up and headed to meet Grandpa for some Burger King fun to continue the celebrating. The boys played their favorite game - they hide up in the play place and Grandpa is the monster who tries to get them. We laughed and laughed as my dad tossed up a tennis ball and the boys tried to reach through the netting to catch it.

We wound up at the church that night while the older boys had scouts and Chuck had meetings, so these two brave yahoos walked around the church IN THE DARK a couple times haha. Jack said they used light streaming through windows in a couple spots to guide them and just held on tight to each other. I feel like I'll use that in a church talk someday...

And the celebrations continued the next day, when we finally had cake and ice cream!! Jack chose the candle and sprinkle placement, and Daddy surprised him with the legos on top.

We love our Jackers. (It's times like this I really do wish I was more caught up on blogging because at this point... ten months later... it's hard to separate where he is now and where he was back then.) Jack is a scallywag and a half. He is very independent but also my most snuggly kid. He is stoic but also SO so sensitive when he gets in trouble. He's constantly saying words or phrases that catch me off guard and make him sound so much older. He LOVES asking questions - he usually interrupts during scriptures to ask what a certain word meant. An oft-uttered question is, "Mom, can you tell me more about....?" He is so so sweet with Carma and so eager to keep up with Clyde and Will. We're so excited for him to be five and start school next fall!
