An Early Elko Christmas

We were able to spend a couple of days in Elko before Christmas and, shockingly, those days mostly revolved around the train that Pops had set up with the Christmas tree.
Pops and Clyde and Will found the best vantage point to watch the train circle round and round..
Will and Lily decided to go 'hands-on' with the train, which didn't end well:

Then they decided to leave the train to the older kids and give some good cousin hugs instead.

Ah, a cookie in one hand and a whistle in the other! Grandma made gingerbread men cookies with the kids one night. Chuck and I were able to sneak over to his brother's and visit since we hadn't seen their new house.
Will's turn with the train whistle! And it seems he's come across a rather large box - Chuck must have been VERY good this year :) It was fun to open gifts together; we even squeezed in the 'sibling gift exchange' the night of Amanda and Steve's Elko reception.
Here's Mom and Pops opening a gift from us:
I made them a photo book of our Lagoon vacation this past summer; it was really fun to have an excuse to go through all those pictures again!
This was a quick trip in Elko, so we're excited that we're headed back later this month for some more fun with all of the family - see everyone soon!

How fun!!! What is it with boys and trains???!? We're going to have to start stocking up on those, apparently :)
